Le Tène, Switzerland: A Sustainable Project with 16 Lushna Suites
We are very proud to present our new sustainable project on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel in western Switzerland, on the small island of Le Tène — a site of exceptional natural beauty and remarkable historical importance.
Le Tène is one of Switzerland’s most famous archaeological locations and gave its name to the La Tène culture, the later Iron Age cultural period that spread across much of Europe. The wider Lake Neuchâtel region is also closely connected to prehistoric pile-dwelling settlements, part of the broader Alpine heritage of stilt-house communities.
Architecture Inspired by Place
In response to this unique historical context, we adapted our standard Lushna Suite Mezzanine model in line with the traditional spirit of pile-dwelling construction. The cabins were redesigned with steeper roofs and generous overhangs, giving them a stronger architectural identity and a more site-specific character.
This redesign also increased the volume of the structure, creating an even more spacious and luxurious interior — especially in the mezzanine, which is now larger, more comfortable, and better suited for premium stays.
16 Cabins with a Strong Sustainability Concept
The project includes 16 cabins, among them 4 units adapted for guests with disabilities. It has been developed in line with high environmental and sustainability standards. The resort will be self-sufficient in electricity, the built-in materials are natural and ecological, and the appliances are selected for low energy consumption. These principles reflect a careful approach to hospitality design in a sensitive natural setting.
Off-Site Construction with Minimal Impact on Site
Another major advantage of the project is the construction method itself. All cabins are prefabricated off-site and will be assembled only on location. This allows for faster execution, precise quality control, and a clean building process with no construction waste on site.
The cabins will be placed on elevated foundations, while all circulation through the resort will happen via walkways, helping reduce the impact on the terrain and preserve the character of the landscape.
A Project That Reflects Our Values
For us, this project is a beautiful example of how contemporary hospitality architecture can respond to a place with deep historical memory. At Le Tène, sustainability, prefabrication, comfort, and cultural sensitivity come together in one ambitious new Lushna development.
It is exactly the kind of project we are excited to create — one that respects the land, draws inspiration from its story, and transforms it into a meaningful guest experience.
